About the event
No matter your skill level, there is a place for you at the construction site. We try to work every Tuesday from 7am-3pm but call the office or email Crystal at volunteer@habitatsalinecounty.com to find out where we are building and if there are any changes to our schedule. Before Volunteering: Along with on-the-site training, we would also like for you to take a brief safety course about how to safely volunteer at our build site! This will help ensure that all volunteers, regardless of prior building experience, stay safe. http://hfhaffiliateinsurance.com/
DIRECTIONSDirections to Partnership Village: From I-30 West, take exit 117. Turn right onto AR-5. At the light turn right onto AR-35. Go Across the overpass & turn right onto Market Street. Go through downtown Benton, over the railroad tracks; keep right. Partnership Village is on the right.
ON THE BUILD SITEWhat to Bring: Volunteers may bring their personal tools. However, make sure your tools are clearly marked. Skill Requirements: No specific skills. Habitat provides an experienced crew leader on each work site who will provide on the job training. Arrival on the Site: Please go to the greeting tent and sign in and fill out the forms needed. A Habitat Supervisor or volunteer will start the morning with a prayer, introductions, a safety talk and instructions. The group will then break into crews to work on various tasks. Kids and Construction: To help ensure a safe work environment, construction volunteers must be at least 16 years old. Teens, 16-17, may work on construction site provided they have parental permission. Those under 18 must not use power tools, climb ladders, or work on scaffolding. Release and Liability: Each Habitat volunteer must sign a Release of Liability form agreeing to take personal responsibility for any accidents or injuries on the job.
GROUPSHabitat is always looking for Groups: churches, organizations, and businesses to volunteer on the construction site. If you have a group that is interested in volunteering please contact the Habitat office at 501-315-5434 or email Crystal at volunteer@habitatsalinecounty.com.
